Fluoride treatments are an additional service Lumora offers that helps protect teeth against cavities. It isn’t a required service but helps those at high risk for cavities like children or those who have had cavities in the past. It’s a painless procedure that can be done after your dental cleaning and exam where our professionals apply the fluoride to the surface of your teeth. You leave with it on and just let it sit for a couple of hours without eating or drinking.

Fluoride Is Long Known to Strengthen Teeth

Fluoride was first tested in Canada in the mid-20th century. The results showed it was beneficial to preventing cavities, especially if applied topically like we do in a fluoride treatment. A fluoride treatment remineralizes tooth enamel, making it stronger for fighting cavities. It can even reverse early-stage cavities.
